Joe Tinker was the Hall of Fame shortstop of the legendary Chicago Cubs dynasty and the first name in baseball’s immortal “Tinker to Evers to Chance” double-play combination. Tinker helped lead Chicago to four National League pennants and back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908.

Issued as part of the celebrated T206 tobacco-card set, this “Hands on Knees” pose features Tinker in his Chicago uniform against the set’s distinctive yellow and green background. More than a century after its original release, the T206 set remains one of the most important and recognizable issues in the history of sports-card collecting.
