Description
I’ve recently decided to start letting some pieces from my personal collection go. This is a great opportunity for you to own a premier piece of North American prehistory. Those familiar with pieces like this will tell you that a Clovis point of any kind is a prize, but a double-fluted 4.5 inch specimen is almost an absolute unicorn for collectors. What is extraordinary about this piece is that it features massive, one-inch channel flutes on both blade faces. This just showcases the masterful, fine collateral chipping that went into it’s creation.
The point bears a heavy, beautiful water-worn polish—evidence of its long journey through ancient riverbeds—alongside a historic ding on one ear likely caused by a catastrophic prehistoric flood. With heavily ground lateral edges and a ground base, this is a quintessential, museum-quality weapon of an Ice Age apex hunter.
Provenance:
This piece was legally surface recovered on my farm in Phillips County, Arkansas. I can provide more specifics as well as a certificate of authenticity upon purchase.
