Description: Recovered from the rich agricultural soils of Phillips County, Arkansas, this Burkett style projectile point is a wonderful example of Late Archaic lithic technology. The point is knapped from a cream-colored Crowley’s Ridge Chert, displaying the subtle earth-tone transitions typical of stone sourced near the Mississippi River Valley.This piece features a broad, triangular blade and a sturdy, contracting stem. The surface exhibits secondary pressure flaking along the margins, indicating it was a well-maintained tool before it was lost or discarded thousands of years ago. It remains in “as-found” condition with a light, natural patina.
