Cotton Rohrscheib

I've been an entrepreneur my entire life and have been blessed to have been associated with hundreds of startups and projects throughout my career. A few years ago I started offloading many of my business interests to spend more time w/ my family and retool my focus toward the agricultural industry, ultimately I landed at Farmers Business Network, Inc. w/ a great team of people w/ shared mission / vision and the rest is history! I still operate my personal website & blog occasionally on topics of interest to me including; parenting, agriculture, technology, and whatever else comes my direction! My blog, cotton.buzz, is the product of over 20yrs worth of content, photos, podcasts, videos, etc., and all of the content I produce is mine personally, and only represent my views and/or opinions on topics and do not represent any of the businesses or associations I'm affiliated with.

My cousin sent me this today, it’s pretty cool.  If you are a fan of flash animations you will like this.  Click on this link to check it out…  Whoever the guy was that put this together must have had a whole lot of time on his hands, not to mention an incredible imagination.

There are two terms that keep coming up as I research out MODx, they are Chunks and Snippets.  Below I am going to do my best to describe what the function of both is inside the MODx environment for the sake of journaling my learning as I go along, MODx Chunks These are pieces of […]

March 10, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

If you have ever had your email address published on a website you know first hand how annoying the spambots can be.  These spambots cruise the web looking for email addresses that can be harvested and added to spam databases.  There are several tactics that a web developer can take to try to curb or […]

Projects: Podcasting in WordPress

March 10, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I have been doing a little bit of research lately on podcasting. I am in the process of putting together a major revision of my Church’s website, www.thechurchalive.org. One of the things we started doing this past year after the last revision was to place our weekly sermon audio files on the web for download. […]

Web-Based Rich Text Editors

March 10, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I have been trying to figure out how to allow RTE to add images and store them locally (in a writeable web folder) on an application that I put together for a client a while back. While out looking for information I went to PHPR’s Help Section and found this basic information on the 3 […]

Projects: KFFB 106.1FM

March 9, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

One of the projects I started earlier this year was developing a custom php/mysql content management solution for KFFB Radio.  Bob Connell, the owner and general manager of the station is a close friend and he gave me a lot of good feedback as to what he wanted to see on the website.  I built […]

How Not to Roll Cable Upstairs!

March 4, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I couldn’t resist posting this when I saw it.  Watch the one guy that was rolling the cable up the stairs, he just lays down and covers his ears!  The funnies keep coming though when the cable exits the building and ends up hitting a car outside setting the alarm off on it. (I guess […]
