April 3, 2014 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I had a client request to have his sidebar widgets load before his content area on his wordpress website and while I knew it had to be possible, I’d never done that before so I did some investigating and discovered that it is possible w/ Genesis Framework / Child Themes, just add this code to […]

Removing Product Thumbnails in Jigoshop

March 21, 2014 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I ran into something today I hadn’t ever seen before. One of our clients e-commerce website that’s powered by Jigoshop for WordPress CMS had several products w/ multiple thumbnails showing up under the “primary” or “featured image” for the product. Apparently at some point these images had been uploaded as part of that product and […]

[…]

I’ve said it a thousand times, Wordcamp Fayetteville is probably my favorite tech-event of the year! Using [shortcodes] in WordPress Widgets

December 18, 2012 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I figured out a cool trick this evening that I thought I would share. Let’s say you have a shortcode that you would like to display inside of a wordpress text widget area, just locate your theme directory and edit your functions.php file to include the following: add_filter( 'widget_text', 'shortcode_unautop'); add_filter( 'widget_text', 'do_shortcode');
