Cotton Rohrscheib

I've been an entrepreneur my entire life and have been blessed to have been associated with hundreds of startups and projects throughout my career. A few years ago I started offloading many of my business interests to spend more time w/ my family and retool my focus toward the agricultural industry, ultimately I landed at Farmers Business Network, Inc. w/ a great team of people w/ shared mission / vision and the rest is history! I still operate my personal website & blog occasionally on topics of interest to me including; parenting, agriculture, technology, and whatever else comes my direction! My blog, cotton.buzz, is the product of over 20yrs worth of content, photos, podcasts, videos, etc., and all of the content I produce is mine personally, and only represent my views and/or opinions on topics and do not represent any of the businesses or associations I'm affiliated with.

I have spent some time the past few evenings researching WordPress MU for a project that I have had in mind for quite some time and just like everything the guys at Automattic and WordPress put out, I have to say that I am very impressed.  My concentration into this software started a few days […]

AJAX for updating other fields

January 6, 2009 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Here is a cool trick for utilizing AJAX to update other fields on pages inside of PHPR code.  I have to thank Giles for pointing out calculation.js to me, see his notes below in this post. The problem I wanted to solve was updating many price fields on a page as the user entered data […]

If you are using PHPR (phprunner) as your IDE to develop your PHP applications in here’s a trick that you are likely going to appreciate at some point in your coding career.  If you utilize the advanced search feature in your applications (not the standard inline search, but the advanced search) and you would like […]

January 6, 2009 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I just posted Josh Catone’s Top 15 Stories of 2008 on my blog a few minutes ago and then stumbled upon his predictions for 2009, I figured this was worthy of posting as well.  I think that Josh has hit the nail on the head again w/ this article.  I share his belief that technologies […]

I am a big fan of SitePoint, they not only put out some great resource books for web developers and hosting companies, but they also have a great list of contributors that post some great content.  I was reading their newsletter today and found the Top 15 Web Tech Stories posted by Josh Catone and […]

The Dead to Tour Again…

January 6, 2009 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Those of you that are close to me know that I have been a Grateful Dead fan since Junior High and my passion for their music has done nothing but grow over the years.  Even though they only charted one time in my memory with a song, “Touch of Grey”, their music has remained in […]

The MacBook Wheel

January 6, 2009 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

It’s been a pretty busy morning this morning but when someone sent me this I busted out laughing.  The best part is the guy who spent 45 minutes to send his friend an email that was riddled with misspellings.  Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard MacBook Wheel revealed by the Onion News Network […]

Beau Lebens Facebook Connect

January 5, 2009 by Cotton Rohrscheib 6 Comments

I have going back and forth w/ Beau Lebens today after reading his How To blog post on Dented Reality discussing his variation of the Facebook Connect application and after testing it today, it’s a very clean plug-in and it seems to work very smoothly. In his blog post he also outlines all of the […]

Google / Picasa for Mac

January 5, 2009 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I was just reading a press release today that Google has released Picasa in beta for the Mac OS.  I have been a Picasa user for a long time, and love the software.  Since Google purchased the company a while back it’s service has done nothing but improve in my opinion.  In fact, I use […]
