Cotton Rohrscheib

I've been an entrepreneur my entire life and have been blessed to have been associated with hundreds of startups and projects throughout my career. A few years ago I started offloading many of my business interests to spend more time w/ my family and retool my focus toward the agricultural industry, ultimately I landed at Farmers Business Network, Inc. w/ a great team of people w/ shared mission / vision and the rest is history! I still operate my personal website & blog occasionally on topics of interest to me including; parenting, agriculture, technology, and whatever else comes my direction! My blog, cotton.buzz, is the product of over 20yrs worth of content, photos, podcasts, videos, etc., and all of the content I produce is mine personally, and only represent my views and/or opinions on topics and do not represent any of the businesses or associations I'm affiliated with.

Vista Issues & Upcoming Service Pack?

February 8, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Anyone who knows me or works closely with me knows that I am not a happy camper when it comes to Vista.  I have never seen a company the size of Microsoft put out something as half-hazardly as vista before in my life.  I think that it was probably pushed to the market way too […]

McAfee® to Acquire ScanAlert

February 8, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

As you already know, Pleth partnered with ScanAlert a few years back.  McAfee announced yesterday that it had finished it’s acquisition of ScanAlert’s HackerSafe product.  There will be no immediate changes for our clients that utilize the HackerSafe products we offer.  Here’s a snippet from McAfee’s corporate website.  I haven’t been a huge fan of […]

Yahoo! and the future of the Internet

February 7, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I found this post out on the Official Google Blog this morning and thought that it brought up some good points, especially about Microsoft. I know that everyone (in the industry) is sitting around speculating whether the deal will go down or not for Microsoft to purchase Yahoo, me too…  Here’s the post: Official Google […]

John Chow’s Blog Income Report – January 2008

February 4, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I have been following Pleth’s Corporate Website I haven’t really given a lot of thought to monetization.  By monetization I mean having ads on my site to generate income.  Not that I am turned off by ads, I think they are great if this is the type of thing you are looking for with your […]

The Exploding Whale

February 4, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

This is probably one of the first viral videos I can remember, it’s a prime example of what can happen when bad ideas prevail.  The funniest part is the car that got leveled a quarter of a mile away from the blast site, wonder what the folks sitting around as spectators thought when they were […]

Super Bowl Ratings Record?

February 4, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I just got finished reading an article on CNN this morning that the Super Bowl may have beaten last years ratings by 6%, here’s a link to the article (Super Bowl may have set ratings record – CNN.com).  I am not for sure about the ratings hike but I definitely know it was a much […]

Ultimate Cubicle Prank

February 4, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I have seen a lot of cubicle pranks on the web, some notable ones featured aluminum foil, bubble wrap and duct tape, but this one probably takes the cake.  These guys had to work pretty hard to pull this one off.

Political Slap Fight

February 3, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I don’t know what country this took place in but it’s been floating around the web now for a long time, I figured it was time to post it here and declare it an official classic among the ranks of the Star Wars Kid and Numa Numa…

SWsoft changes its name to Parallels!

February 2, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I guess the much awaiting name change for SWSoft to Parallels is official.  I noticed over the weekend that I got plaxo updates from several of my contacts with the firm with a new company name.  Not for sure when these guys are going to go public but you can bet that it won’t be […]

Pleth Auto Dealership Solutions

February 2, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

One product that I seldom talk about to clients when asking what vertical markets we service is Auto Dealerships.  It’s not that our Auto Dealership Solutions aren’t comparable to other solutions on the market, it is very robust and customizable to meet specific needs that a dealership might have.  Anatomically our dealership solutions are very […]
