In light of everything that has happened over the past two weeks w/ the storms in Moore, Oklahoma my chase partner, Michael Frazier and I were asked to speak to the Faulkner County 4H club last night and to give them a behind the scenes look at what it’s like to be on the chase as well as ask us any questions they might have pertaining to storm chasing. Granted, we are newbies but i think we did a pretty good job and feel like we were able to leave them with some good information. Prior to going to the meeting we went ahead and rigged up everything just as we would for heading out on a chase with the exception of our GoPro cameras. During our discussion Frazier and I both stressed the importance of safety and awareness as well as advising each of them not to jump in without first getting their SKYWARN certification from the National Weather Service.
The kids had a great time climbing around the truck and checking out all of our high-tech gear, etc.
