Description
Commemorative copper round honoring Père Jacques Marquette (1637–1675), the French Jesuit missionary and explorer known for his exploration of the Mississippi River. The obverse depicts Marquette and companions traveling by canoe with the inscription “Pere Jacques Marquette – Missionary and Explorer – 1638–1673.” The reverse features a portrait of Marquette with commemorative inscriptions. Struck in copper and housed in a protective holder with a holographic authenticity seal.
