Description
Discover a true marvel of mid-century American angling engineering with this vintage “Wotta Frog” topwater plug. Produced by the historic Paw Paw Bait Company in Paw Paw, Michigan, during the 1940s, this highly collectible wooden lure was built to mimic the lifelike swimming action of a panicked frog.
This classic lure features a chunky wooden main body paired with a unique, articulated jointed wooden tail. The tail terminates with an original nickel-plated teardrop spinner blade. When retrieved, the spinner catches the water, forcing the jointed tail section to kick dynamically from side to side. Adorned in a striking Yellow Frog Splatter (Frog Spot) finish, it features a signature bright red chin, hand-painted black-and-white tack eyes, and its original belly treble hook. Showing beautiful authentic aging, this mechanical piece is an essential addition to any comprehensive vintage tackle collection or rustic cabin display.
