** SUPPORT TORNADO VICTIMS: CLICK HERE! **
This is the video we shot today of my truck at the impound lot where we found it. It was originally discovered near the Morgan / Maumelle exit in a lot where they had dragged a lot of vehicles that were collected on the Interstate in the wake of the mile-wide tornado that went through (see video here). It was sort of surreal seeing the truck in the light of day, I was speechless at first when we got to the lot and really didn’t even recognize it at first.
The storm was so violent that the winds during the time we were hit were estimated to be near 100mph (I’ve heard conflicting reports), it was however classified tentatively as an EF3 tornado, that means the wind speed was between 136-165 mph. Let that sink in for a minute. Also, picture this, I got conked on the head w/ a cast iron “iron” -like the kind you would use to iron your shirt before electricity. Needless to say it hurt, but I honestly don’t even remember how bad because we were hunkered down and praying so hard and our adrenaline was pumping. Honestly, the only option we had in the moment was to pray, nothing else we could have done would have mattered, we were along for the ride.
I’ve had a lot of people ask me about the truck, and again this is one of those things sort of like the video, I haven’t wanted to have a lot of attention pointed toward because it detracts from the real efforts that are going on as I hammer out this post to assist those that were affected by the storms.
