Okay, so we have some really cool things going on here in Conway these days. On August 20, 2010 at 8am at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce we will have our first ever BarCamp Conway conference. If you are unfamiliar w/ BarCamp, it’s best described as an un-conference. The presentations are crowdsourced and voted upon by the group. The way this works is everyone who wants to do a presentation on a topic brings that presentation w/ them and sticks it on a post it note for the attendees to vote on what they want to hear about.
While BarCamp Jonesboro kind of got this whole thing started, and are are expected to have a huge turnout at ASU’s campus at Jonesboro in September, Arlton and I were talking the other day and he said he expected our first event to be a smaller, more intimate gathering with about 40 or so people. Nick Brewer and I both went on record as saying that number could be dramatically higher. Fortunately we have accommodations for the event provided by the chamber of commerce and an overflow location approved if we need the space. The best thing about BarCamp Conway is that ADMISSION IS FREE, you can REGISTER ONLINE NOW!
