1992 Spain Quincentenary Commemorative 50 Centavos Token Set (4 Pieces)

Description

Set of four commemorative brass-toned tokens issued for the 500th Anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ First Voyage (1492–1992). The obverse designs feature notable figures and ships associated with the voyage, including Christopher Columbus, La Santa María, La Niña, and La Pinta, with the inscription “Encuentro de Dos Mundos” (“Encounter of Two Worlds”). The reverse displays the denomination “Quinto Centenario 1492–1992.”

These were produced as commemorative medals/tokens celebrating the quincentenary of Columbus’ arrival in the Americas and are collected as historical exonumia.
