One of the first things I realized after we found out that we were going to be able to adopt Spencer so fast was that I would be able to stand up on Father’s Day in Church when they ask all of the dads to stand up. I know this sounds like something trivial to most people but for someone who has wanted to be a dad for a long time this is kind of a big deal, my heart goes out to the guys that are still waiting on their miracle, I pray that their day comes soon. I’ve posted photos from our Father’s Day here…
This Father’s Day was awesome in that I was able to spend it w/ my dad, granted he never took his eyes off of Spencer the entire weekend (and that’s perfectly fine w/ me!). In addition to my parents, Donna’s Sister and her husband were in town w/ their twins for the weekend as well as her Aunt from North Carolina. We had a great time, on Friday we had Donna’s 40th Birthday Party where we had over 50 of our closest friends over for Barbeque. It was an awesome time and Spencer probably had just as much fun as everyone at the party even though he couldn’t enjoy the BBQ. I’ve posted photos from the party here…
On Saturday we went out on the lake and just enjoyed the day swimming and boating around Greers Ferry Lake, we also stopped in at Fairifield Bay where they were having their Surf the Bay weekend event. I’ve posted photos from the weekend on the lake here…
As I just look at Spencer I just can’t get over how awesome God is and how huge he showed up for us w/ Spencer as the answer to our prayers!! I’m one lucky, blessed guy!!!
