Okay, so here’s one for the books… I had never heard of a “furry” in my entire life until one weekend that I was in Denver, Colorado for a national sales meeting. I had worked to get a group of my outside sales team (mostly farmers) to come along with me to Denver for this meeting. On about the second day we were in this big meeting room at the Sheraton in Downtown Denver when I noticed a couple of people coming up the escalators wearing these furry costumes. The first one I noticed was a blue fox, then there were two or three cats and dogs that followed. As I glanced around the room at the other leaders from our company I could tell that no one had a clue as to what was going on…
Needless to say, in about 30 minutes or so there were about 200 of these characters in the lobby of our hotel meeting and greeting one another. Keep in mind, probably less than 10% of our entire crew (probably 300 guys) had a clue what a furry was.
Long story short, their convention was going on at the same time we had scheduled our sales meeting. It was hilarious. I got to know multiple members of the furry community and we all had a great time during the week.
