My Recurring Noodling Nightmare…

April 26, 2012 by Cotton Rohrscheib 1 Comment

Okay, so the other night my wife and I were watching one of my favorite television shows, River Monsters w/ Jeremy Wade, and in that particular episode Jeremy was in Oklahoma “noodling” for Catfish. Needless to say I was intrigued, because there’s absolutely no way that I would ever go “noodling” but it was very entertaining doing it vicariously through Jeremy. As we watched Jeremy go underwater and stick his hand into hidden holes underwater we would cringe when a giant catfish latched onto his hand and he leaped from the water w/ a mammoth catfish clamped onto the end of his arm.

Well, once the show was over we went onto bed, it was almost 10pm, past our bedtime anyway because we are old. To set the scene for what happened next I think it’s important to note that I sleep on my stomach with one of my arms balled up under my pillow. Well, fast forward to about 2am and you guessed it, I dreamed that I had a huge catfish latched onto my hand and part of my arm so unconsciously I jerked my arm from under the pillow, yelled get it off and almost took my sleeping wife’s head off by flailing my arm about the bed. Needless to say by the time I was finished my wife was awake, and our dog Bogey was totally freaked out (he sleeps between us, or at least he did until that happened).

Well, guess what, it happened again last night… haha. I have heard of recurring dreams before, dear Lord, please don’t let this be mine….

Oh my!  You know recurring dreams tell us are deepest wants and desires… 🙂  I would not want a recurring dream.  I hope, not only for your sake but your wife and Bogey that it ceases soon.
