Cotton Rohrscheib

I've been an entrepreneur my entire life and have been blessed to have been associated with hundreds of startups and projects throughout my career. A few years ago I started offloading many of my business interests to spend more time w/ my family and retool my focus toward the agricultural industry, ultimately I landed at Farmers Business Network, Inc. w/ a great team of people w/ shared mission / vision and the rest is history! I still operate my personal website & blog occasionally on topics of interest to me including; parenting, agriculture, technology, and whatever else comes my direction! My blog, cotton.buzz, is the product of over 20yrs worth of content, photos, podcasts, videos, etc., and all of the content I produce is mine personally, and only represent my views and/or opinions on topics and do not represent any of the businesses or associations I'm affiliated with.

OpenID Needs Exposure

December 30, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

While I am a huge fan of Facebook Connect, I also have been rooting for OpenID to gain some traction as well as a universal login sharing solution but it just hasn’t gotten the attention that Facebook Connect has, and for obvious reasons, everyone is already familiar w/ Facebook and it’s one of the most […]

Invitation from the FBI

December 30, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Here’s something you don’t see everyday, the FBI has issued an invitation to hackers or just anyone interested in cracking codes to break a cipher they have placed on their website.  The code was generated by the FBI cryptanalysts.  They have even posted some primers for newbies out there that are interested and want to […]

Mailtrust Advisory Board

December 29, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I am going to be on the Mailtrust Customer Advisory Board for the next 6 months.  I was talking w/ one of their representatives today about how Mailtrust’s Noteworthy product is probably my most favorite SAAS solution on the market!  I didn’t really realize how handy the webmail interface was because I usually download everything […]

Way to Go Cowboys!

December 29, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Last night I watched the best football game I have seen in a while.  And no, it wasn’t a close game by any means, it was actually a blowout that probably could have been stopped early in the 3rd quarter for humanitarian reasons but it continued.  I DVR’d the game and watched it over again. […]

Web Hosting Podcasts of 2008

December 29, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I am a frequent listener to the Web Hosting Show, hosted by Mitch Keeler, he usually covers a broad range of interesting topics that are extremely relevant to the Web Hosting industry. I noticed this morning that Mitch has listed his best Podcasts of 2008 on his blog and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to […]

Meet the Turtleman

December 28, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I posted this video to my facebook page a while back and it got a whole lot of comments so I figured it was worthy of archiving here!  I tried to do this “rebel indian yell” at the dinner table over Thanksgiving but my wife quickly called me down and told me that I was […]

Building a WordPress Plugin

December 27, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Glen Stansberry posted a good guide to building a wordpress plugin on nettuts.com and I thought that it was worth re-posting here for those of you who have considered building your own wordpress plugin.  It’s really good information. When it comes to adding extra functionality to a WordPress blog, WordPress users typically go and search for […]

Podango Going Out…

December 26, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

If you are using PodPress to manage your podcast inside of hosting audio files so none of my clients are utilizing this, and all have done well w/ our managed hosting services for holding their audio data. Podcast hosting didn’t look to be a fruitful business even at the start of the year: now, as […]

I did this video when Bella came over to visit us for Christmas. She told me that the night before she was excited about coming to see her Un-Cotton!
