I was just driving home from running some errands listening to the Buzz, a local sports talk radio station, and they were doing a telephone interview w/ Matt Jones about today’s announcement that he has landed a 1 year deal w/ the Bengals.
This is big news for Jones and I hope that he views it as a second chance and will seize the opportunity. Working w/ a QB like Carson Palmer could be good for him as well as working alongside Ocho Cinco. Let’s just all pray it works out. Here’s a snippet I found online about the arrangement:
The Bengals and receiver Matt Jones have agreed on a one-year deal, said a source familiar with the discussions who spoke on condition of anonymity because no contract has been signed. Jones would be the latest player trying to revive his career in Cincinnati after legal problems. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the deal would pay him approximately $700,000.
In case you are out of the loop, Jones, who was one of the most exciting players to graduate from Arkansas in a long time, has had some off the field troubles and honestly never really settled into his role at the Jaquars in my opinion. He also didn’t live up to the expectations that a lot of us had for him. Hopefully this time it’s going to be a good fit.

Matt Jones is an athletic playmaker who has ability to rush and pass the football. However he did let down alot of people with his off the feild problems. I still think that if given another opportunity he can achieve.
I always enjoyed watching Jones play QB at Arkansas. He added a level of excitement to our team. I wish him nothing but the best.
