Cotton Rohrscheib

I've been an entrepreneur my entire life and have been blessed to have been associated with hundreds of startups and projects throughout my career. A few years ago I started offloading many of my business interests to spend more time w/ my family and retool my focus toward the agricultural industry, ultimately I landed at Farmers Business Network, Inc. w/ a great team of people w/ shared mission / vision and the rest is history! I still operate my personal website & blog occasionally on topics of interest to me including; parenting, agriculture, technology, and whatever else comes my direction! My blog, cotton.buzz, is the product of over 20yrs worth of content, photos, podcasts, videos, etc., and all of the content I produce is mine personally, and only represent my views and/or opinions on topics and do not represent any of the businesses or associations I'm affiliated with.

OutSync links Facebook & Outlook…

January 18, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I ran across a pretty cool tool on Download.com the other night and decided to give it a try.  It is called OutSync and what it does is it links your Outlook to your Facebook account and allows you to synchronize photos from your Facebook contacts with your Outlook. Why would you want to do […]

Hosting Bookmarks…

January 16, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I actually learned about Hosting Bookmarks a while back reading one of Mitch’s blogs and finally had an opportunity to check it out, it’s a very slick website that I think that I could literally spend hours on.  Imagine this, it’s kind of like Digg in how that it operates but it’s very industry specific […]

Book Review: Sitepoint’s Build a Database Driven Website…

January 15, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Sitepoint Books are usually very well written books and this one is one is no different, it’s a great read and I recommend it to everyone who asks about good books they can pick up to learn more about web development.  This is another book that I keep on the bookshelf behind my desk and […]

Shockwave Object Fix – Javascript

January 15, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

If you have ever been on a website that when you moused over a flash animation or shockwave object you get a mouseover that says “Click to Activate and use this control”.  This is a result of litigation that was won over Microsoft so they were forced to change their Internet Explorer web browser, it […]

Wal-Mart Computer Prank

January 14, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

This is hilarious, some kid calls Wal-Mart and tells the worker that he is from Corporate and has her to upgrade her computer to have a “wireless keyboard”. haha.  It’s hilarious, it’s a wonder though that she wasn’t electrocuted.  He manages to get her to cut a bunch of wires over the course of a […]

Brock Lesnar in the UFC

January 13, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I am pretty stoked about Brock Lesnar competing in the UFC, I think that he should be pretty awesome, he’s one big tough dude with a lot of good fighting skills.  Here’s a sample clip that I ran across on Cage Potato that has him taking out Min in pretty short time.  I am anxious […]

Congratulations to Mike Muise…

January 13, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I just wanted to post a quick congratulations to long-time friend and strategic partner from Register.com, Mike Muise on the recent birth of his baby boy, Noah.  I knew that I hadn’t heard anything from Mike in a while so I figured I would check his blog to see what he’s been up to when […]

Content Management System – Modx

January 13, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib 1 Comment

My business partner Greg has summed up our CMS woes in a recent blog post that can be found here, basically after however many years of business we have been developing websites we still have found ourselves pretty disgusted with 3rd party CMS applications that are on the market.  We have many conversations back and […]

Book Review: Maximum Apache Security

January 13, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

About a year or so ago we were working pretty hard with our server admin to harden our servers against potential threats such as remote shell executions, bots, and xss vulnerabilities.  It was a frustrating time for me because there were a lot of elements that I couldn’t get my mind around, fortunately our server […]

Powersite Real Estate MLS – IDX Solutions

January 13, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

I am starting a new section on my blog (should have a long time ago) to cover the topic of Real Estate Website Solutions.  This is an area that I have had several years experience with a lot of success for my clients.  Probably the most popular of our Real Estate Solutions is the MLS-IDX […]
