Back from Vacation 2013 (Panama City)

As I mentioned the other day, my parents had been planning our vacation this year for over a year now, well… pretty much when Spencer came into our lives. I have to admit, I probably had more fun last week than I’ve had in a long time. I didn’t get to do any fishing this year like I had enjoyed in years past like Catching Kingfish & Dolphin Fish in Destin (2008) and Shark Fishing in Hilton Head Island (2010) but given the fact that this was the first time that Spencer had ever experienced the sand, the ocean, and all of the waves and crowds, I have no regrets how we spent our time.

My parents condo was laid out perfectly for all of us, and our beds were amazing. Each night we would go to sleep w/ the sounds of the waves crashing in on the beach and wake up the same way. For those of you that know me you are already aware that I’m not a fish eater… at all. Well, I set myself some goals for this vacation in terms of branching out and trying new things. I fell in love w/ Grouper, Amber Jack, and Dungeness Crab and consumed my quota of raw oysters (which I was already a fan of). We hit just about all of the hot spots between Panama City and Destin (where we have family), including Margaritaville, Bayou Bills, Red Bar, etc. We also met a lot of great people while we were in town, several I plan to follow up with and possibly reconnect with again in the future.

Needless to say we snapped a crapton of photos, many of them were taken downstairs at our condo at the Splash Resort where Spencer had a blast running headfirst into everthing he could find on the splash pad. We also had a blast playing around at Grayton Beach on the other end of 30a.
