It’s human nature for us to be comforted by the support of others and in some cases just the mere presence of a very small group of close supporters is all we need to feel normal or even empowered in the face of adversity. It’s actually a beautiful thing when everything is working and the right circle of people are in place. It’s such a beautiful thing that we get used to it and take it for granted until one day we look up to find no one standing in our corner for various reasons and it’s too late in the battle to recruit a new circle. We all need people in our corners, I don’t care who you are.
