Xline calls these add-ins “templates” but I think that the word template doesn’t really do it justice, this in my opinion is more of a “framework” for lack of a better word, because it is so expandable as far as how it can be added to an application. The benefit of adding the calendar framework to your application, or even the new “shopping cart” add-in that was made available last month, is that it allows us as developers to create a multitude of applications behind one shared user access table. For example, I can see this new Calendar Template being integrated into quite a few of my php/mysql cms applications i have been working on for clients.
Here is a Link to Login to the admin area of the calendar as it is now (username: admin / password: admin), keep in mind the Xline PHPRunner uses Smarty templates to style your apps so the whole appearance of your apps can be kept pretty uniform by CSS stylesheets. If you would like to just preview what the world would see of the calendar, http://demo.asprunner.net/mikl_xlinesoft_com/Calendar5/Monthly_list.asp. Not bad huh? I haven’t had a chance to dive in yet but I would bet that after a little playing around with PHP Runner, even a novice developer could deploy this application in under 5 minutes and have it up and running for their clients. I just cant say enough for this PHP Runner Project, Sergey, Alexei and the guys have done a great job getting this tool onto the market and into the hands of web designers and IT professionals.
