There are some pretty big things getting ready to happen here in Central Arkansas and I’m pretty excited about the fact that I can sort of let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. My good friend, Bill Doshier, is in China right now wrapping up the final arrangements for the launch of quite possibly one of the biggest internet startups with the most potential to ever launch here in the natural state. Many of you are familiar with .com, .net, and .org as being TLD’s, or top-level domains. These domains have been around a long time and have served the web community well but as time has gone on the need for new TLD’s or “virtual real estate” has grown tremendously.
Well, long story short, ICANN decided a while back to allow for people / organizations with deep enough pockets to petition to be accepted as new TLD’s. Pretty soon you should start seeing a lot of these new TLD’s hitting the marketplace, but the biggest news is that one of the “picks of the litter” in terms of TLD’s, .buzz, will be launched and managed right here in Conway, Arkansas! I’ve accepted an advisory role w/ .buzz and will have a lot more to share in the coming weeks and months, but in the meantime be sure to checkout: http://buzznames.biz.
Also, be sure to checkout the recent article in the Wall Street Journal about .buzz…
