I hacked Starbucks WCM!

April 3, 2008 by Cotton Rohrscheib Leave a Comment

Okay, I have been working on this project for the past few days to get it perfected before I went public with it but I have managed to hack Starbucks WCM (White Chocolate Mocha).  Now, with this being said I am not going to divulge how it’s done exactly but I will share a few hints with you that might help you in your own personal pursuit to remove $4 a cup for coffee from your daily budget.

The secret lies with EBay.  That’s right EBay.  The only way you can get the top secret ingredient to Starbucks WCM is on Ebay.  I contacted the company numerous times to procure the syrup used in their WCM but they would not sell it to me so on a whim I turned to Ebay.  Apparently what happens is that Barristas (employees) will often times smuggle out unopened containers of the WCM syrup and put them on Ebay for sale.  Now, there are two options when shopping for this syrup online, you can go with the in-store variety which is a plain plastic container with pump attached and the Starbucks logo on it or you can go with a lesser known substitute that is actually put out by Starbucks.  It’s marketed under the brand name Fontana.  Either of these products will work.

Now that I have hacked this delicious mid-morning treat my wife has reminded me that I am going to have to spend an extra hour each morning exercising to work off the amount of sugar that I am taking in.  My motivation for doing this was simple.  While there are multiple Starbucks locations in Conway now the closest one to my house is like 8 miles away and can take a while in Conway traffic to get to and from.

Here’s a link to a forum post where some folks almost have the secret cracked for WCM, but they don’t give proportions and that to me has been the biggest challenge of this whole quest.  Source: CoffeeGeek – Members: Coffee Recipes, Starbucks white chocolate mocha recipe???
