The video below is of my friend Ambassador Lewis Lucke’s presentation to Episcopal Seminary in Austin, TX on the persecution of Iraqi Christian victims of ISIS and especially those 6000+ sheltering in Jordan. This was something I hadn’t given a lot of thought until I spent some time w/ Ambassador Lucke and he brought it to my attention. You can learn more about these ISIS victims here…

Lewis also shared a post on LinkedIn on this same topic, see the post below:
I am publishing the “N” symbol (Arabic language “N”) meaning Nazarene” i.e.”Christian” that ISIS has painted on the houses of Iraqi Christians in and around Mosel, Iraq to identify them for death if they did not convert or flee. Some were killed, a very few converted and most fled with literally nothing other than their lives and the clothes on their backs. Most fled to Erbil, Kurdistan where they still remain but a more fortunate… 6000+ have made it to Amman, Jordan where I met many of them last October-November.
These good people are the remnants of one of the oldest Christian communities on earth whose first language is Aramaic, the language of Jesus. Their Christian identity is strong and they have lost everything for faith. The very existence of Christians in Iraq and the Middle East as a whole is under threat of extinction. They need our awareness and our help.
I am trying to do my small part to spread awareness in the US of the dire plight of these people, and in addition to what I posted previously, let you know how you can help directly. The small Jordanian Christian community is doing their best but they are few and their resources limited.
The registered NGO Caritas Jordan has the main responsibility to register, track, shelter and otherwise care for these 6000+ folks in Jordan. You can contact them and donate via their website <www.caritasjordan.org.jo> You may also contact me directly at <[email protected]> and I can provide direct fund transfer info for Caritas Jordan as well as another Jordan NGO I can vouch for working with the Christian refugees, Messengers of Peace. Please let me know when a donation is made so we can send you one of the “N” pins (pronounced “Nun”) that our pastor in Austin, Texas conceived (he wasn’t the only one with the idea) and ordered. We hope you well wear it prominently as a sign of support to these oppressed Christians and as an affirmation of faith. Thank you.
